Steps on How to grow Abay F1 Sweet Pepper Seeds

Nursery

  • Fill the seedling tray with loose cocopeat that has been soaked in water
  • Plant your bell pepper seeds a quarter of an inch deep.
  • Water your seed regularly after planting and place it where it will get enough sunlight so as to keep them warm( or place the seeds near a heating pad).

Note:

  • Keep your seeds in temperatures of at least 70 degrees Fahrenheit.
  • Harden off your seedlings before transplanting because bell pepper is vulnerable to transplant shock.

How to Hardening your Bell Pepper

  • Gently introduce your seedlings to field condition( external temperature) for small amounts of time per day at about 10 days before planting.
  • Increasing the amount of time they spend outdoors gradually. This helps your seedlings to adjust to the outside temperature and therefore, prevent wilting or stunted growth.
  • Transplanting
  • After one to three weeks of germination, your bell pepper seedlings are ready for transplanting
  • Keep your seedlings 18 to 24 inches apart.
  • Bury root ball of the seedling deep into the soil while ensuring that only the seedling leaves are above the soil
  • Note:
  • Transplanting should be done When your garden soil temperature has reached at least 65 degrees Fahrenheit (and night temperatures should be at least 60 degrees Fahrenheit).
  • Well-draining soil is the most suitable for planting bell pepper.
