Fertilizer Injector – Venturi is the most efficient way to feed plants. Adding fertilizer to irrigation system products delivers nutrients in liquid form directly to the roots of the plants. Unlike conventional fertilizing techniques, little or none is lost on the way down. Fertilizer injectors are a fast and accurate way to feed an entire garden, landscape, nursery or greenhouse.

Fertilizing gives our efforts an extra boost by notably improving plant vigour and production. For backyard gardeners, that means the best tomatoes and most prolific fruits and flowers. In the case of commercial growing, it means healthier and higher crop yields that are critical to financial success.

Fertilizer Injector – Venturi are devices used to apply water-soluble fertilizers, pesticides, plant growth regulators, wetting agents and mineral acids during crop production. They are a vital part of modern greenhouse or nursery operations. Since the introduction of injectors or proportions, growers have enjoyed an easy time- and labour-saving method of applying liquid chemical solutions to their crops. Despite the advantages, many growers have had at least one experience with a compromised, damaged or even ruined crop where the cause was traced to a malfunctioning injector. Just like other mechanical devices, proper and frequent maintenance and calibration are crucial steps to ensure optimal injector performance and, thus, healthy crops.

How a Fertilizer Injector works

Fertilizer Injector – Venturi take a small portion of concentrated fertilizer solution from a stock tank and inject it into the waterline. For every part of the stock solution, there are x parts of water, where “x” is determined by the injector ratio. For example, with a 1:100 ratio, 1 part of the stock solution is mixed with 99 parts of water, for a total of 100 parts of the final solution. The size of the stock tank varies and it could be as small as 5 gallons or as large as 2,000 gallons. Often ratios are expressed as per cent. For example, a 1:100 ratio equals a 1 per cent solution.

Benefits of using a Fertilizer injector

  • They are an easy-to-use, low-cost option for small gardens.
  • Fertilizer injector help to calculate your fertilizer needs.
  • They provide the best portion control for commercial-grade operations.
  • They are an economical choice for the advanced gardener or small commercial operation.
  • This product works well for most home gardens and landscapes.

Fertilizer injector maintenance

  • Use a calibrated EC meter, so that you know how much fertilizer you are injecting. It is recommended this be done weekly. Be sure to check that your stock solution was made up correctly.
  • Set up a schedule to do your maintenance at a given time of the year. This ensures all your injectors get attention. It is best to clean your injectors before replacing all wear parts.
  • Always inspect your equipment for worn parts, like the suction tube. Sun and chemicals will wear parts and should be replaced.
  • If you find your injector is starting to wear out, plan to replace it — instead of putting expensive parts in old equipment.
