Agricultural importance of magnesium
Magnesium (Mg) is an essential element for crops, animals, and humans, the deficiency of which affects photosynthesis and carbohydrate partitioning in crops, reduces the sustainability of agricultural production and development and causes long-term negative impacts on human and animal health.
Crops absorb Mg from the soil mainly through their roots. Adequate soil Mg is key to ensure robust crop growth and production. Absolute Mg deficiency in the soil dramatically reduces Mg absorption by crop roots, which is frequently a consequence of low Mg contents in source rocks.
The importance of Maxi Magna fertilizer to plants includes the following
- Maxi Magna fertilizer can be used to increase magnesium or sulfur content in soil and can also be foliar-applied to magnesium-gobbling crops, such as potatoes, roses, tomatoes, lemon trees, carrots, and peppers.
- The fertilizer is used in correcting magnesium deficiency in plants as soon as possible so as to allow the plant to continue growing normally.
- This fertilizer contains magnesium which helps to activate specific enzyme systems.
