Health benefits of Sangria F1

Watermelons are all water, about 92% of them. Yet these refreshing fruits are saturated in nutrients. A juicy bite has substantial amounts of vitamins A , B6, and C, a lot of lycopene, antioxidants, and amino acids.

There’s also a tiny amount of potassium in it. In addition, it is free of fat, very low in sodium, and has just 40 calories per cup.
Watermelon has the highest lycopene content of any kind of fresh produce. It has around 15 to 20 milligrams per serving of 2 cups.

Lycopene is a phytonutrient, a naturally occurring compound in fruit and vegetables that reacts with the human body to trigger healthy reactions.

It is also a red pigment that gives melons, tomatoes, red grapefruit and guava their color.

In addition, lycopene has been linked to cardiac health, bone health, and the prevention of prostate cancer. It is also a potent antioxidant thought to have anti-inflammatory effects.

If you want to really optimize your lycopene intake, let your watermelon mature entirely. The redder your watermelon gets, the higher the concentration of lycopene gets.
Watermelon also contains fiber that supports a balanced digestive tract and helps to keep you refreshed.

Sowing Indoors: Provide 70-85ºF soil temperature. Sow 2-3 seeds per cell/pot. Sowing into individual biodegradable peat/cow pots reduces root damage when transplanting. Transplant after last frost, 36-48″ apart.

Harvest: Look for the following signs as it does take some practice on telling when they are ready to harvest. The closest tendril to the stem dries, there is a crack in the stem that attaches the watermelon to the vine, where the watermelon touches the ground it should be a butter yellow color, give it a knock with your hands it should sound hollow, the skin is dull, and slipping of the stem from the melon with slight finger pressure.

Tips:  Plant in fertile soil, amended with compost or well-rotted manure, and keep well watered. They benefit from growing on black plastic and by using row covers for weed, insect control, and more rapid growth.
