Improved hybrid varieties of plantain suckers named agbagba (Giant Elephant) are available. Plantain suckers are high yielding plants and disease resistant to bacteria, viruses, nematode and fungal affecting banana and plantain plantations. They can adapt to a variety of ecosystems in Nigeria.

Maturity period: Eleven (11) months.

Hybrid plantain suckers is currently one of the highly consumed starchy staples in Nigeria and has made a significant contribution and source of income for agro-investors. The crop is a rich source of fiber, vitamin A, C, and B-6 with rising demand and shortfall in supply, the demand for plantain is growing in local and international markets.

We equally understand the importance of starting a farm with  good hybrid plantain suckers. Hence, we  ensure that good suckers of improved varieties from IITA are supplied to customers.

Things to Note before Buying;
1. 800 suckers is recommended per Acre of Farmland
2. A  spacing of at 2m by 3m is recommended.
3. Corm of suckers must be at least 40cm inside the soil during planting.
4. Suckers must be treated with Nematocide before planting.
5  Suckers should not be fully exposed to sunlight.

    It was a terrible experience, it took almost a month from payment to getting my suckers delivered.

    I received it finally with most of them rotten
