  • Nutrition – Freshly harvested tomatoes offer the most vitamins, minerals, and antioxidants.
  • No chemicals – You control growing methods to avoid pesticides.

How to Grow Belfast F1 Tomatoes

Follow these tips for success in growing Belfast F1 tomatoes:

  • Raise in a nursery for 6 – 8 weeks in a coco peat.
  • Transplant outside after hardening off when nighttime temps are above 50 F.
  • Plant 18-36 inches apart in rows or raised beds. Add compost to the soil.
  • Use 5-6-foot stakes or cages for support once plants are 2 ft tall.
  • Water 1-2 inches per week. Fertilize when fruits start forming.
  • Harvest when tomatoes are fully colored but still firm. Enjoy fresh!

Caring for indeterminate tomato

Indeterminate varieties of tomatoes require extra care compared to their determinate counterparts. Pruning is an essential exercise that must be performed on indeterminate tomatoes regularly.

Suckers must be removed to redirect energy to fruit production. Pruning is an ongoing exercise throughout the season because the plant continues to grow. Pruned tomatoes have better flavor than those left unpruned.

In addition to pruning, indeterminate tomatoes require support. This can be done through stakes, trellis, or cages. The support ensures the vine grows upright vertically away from the ground. This reduces the risk of disease and other yield and quality-damaging pests.
