Yellow Habanero Hot Pepper (Caribean) -10g

3,000

The Caribbean yellow habanero hot pepper is one of the hottest versions of the habanero. With the typical citrusy-smoky flavor of yellow habaneros and twice the heat, this variety is a perfect addition to a pot of soup, and they make killer hot sauce.
In spite of its fierce, intense heat, it has a wonderful, distinctive flavor with tropical fruit tones that mix well with food containing tropical fruits, soups, or tomatoes.
It even grows nicely in both hot and cool climates, either in an open field or in a greenhouse.

Yellow Habanero Hot Pepper stands out with an unbelievable spicy heat and a very high fruit yield. Although the pepper is wrinkled and has thin skin, it is still very succulent and possesses a rich and complex flavor. Its tropical, fruity flavor makes them an essential ingredient in every food or soup. The ripe habanero is a little sweeter and has a more developed fruitiness than the green immature habañero.

Growing yellow habanero hot peppers has a number of benefits, including:

  • Culinary value: Habanero peppers are known for their intense heat and fruity flavor, which can add a unique and delicious kick to a variety of dishes, including hot sauces, salsas, soups, stews, and stir-fries. Yellow habaneros have a slightly milder flavor than red habaneros, but they are still quite spicy.
  • Nutritional benefits: Habanero peppers are a good source of vitamins A and C, as well as potassium and capsaicin. Capsaicin is the compound that gives habaneros their heat, and it has also been shown to have a number of health benefits, such as boosting metabolism, reducing inflammation, and relieving pain.
  • Ornamental value: Habanero plants are attractive and can be grown as ornamental plants in addition to their culinary value. The plants have glossy green leaves and produce bright yellow or orange peppers that add a pop of color to the garden.
  • Economic value: Habaneros are a valuable crop that can be sold fresh, dried, or ground into powder. They are also used in a variety of commercial products, such as hot sauces, salsas, and condiments.

In addition to these general benefits, growing yellow habanero hot peppers can also have specific benefits for individuals and communities. For example, people who enjoy spicy food can grow their own habaneros to ensure that they have a fresh supply of these peppers on hand. Habaneros can also be a valuable source of income for small-scale farmers and entrepreneurs.

Management of yellow habanero hot peppers

  • Germination temperature is between 22°C and 28°C (germination period: 12-21 days); it is therefore recommended to use a greenhouse or an open field.
  • The plants need fresh, well-fertilized, permeable soil, and do not tolerate waterlogging.
  • They should be placed in a sunny, protected place with at least 6 hours of sunlight.
  • As the plants have a particularly long maturation period, it may be preferable to grow them in a pot, so that you can easily bring the plants inside when the temperature falls below 12°C during the day, allowing all the fruits to ripen.

Planting habanero hot pepper seeds

  • If starting in the nursery, allow 7 to 10 weeks for the seeds to mature into seedlings large enough to transplant safely.
  • Fertilize when the blooms appear, and water well.
  • The fruit is most nutritious if allowed to ripen on the plant.
