Dragon Herbicide/ Paraquat is a  non-selective contact herbicide by Wacot. It controls a wide range of annual grasses, broadleaf weeds, and perennial grasses. Dragon herbicide is fast-acting and leaves no biologically active residues in the soil. This permits immediate planting or sowing after spraying is done. Paraquat effectively controls broadleaf weeds in fruit orchards, ornamental trees, and shrubs in agriculture and forestry. It is also used as a defoliant on crops, like cotton, prior to harvest.

How Does It Work?

It is a contact herbicide, meaning it must come into direct contact with the foliage of target weeds to be effective. Once applied, the herbicide is quickly absorbed by the weed’s leaves and stems, disrupting the plant’s ability to produce chlorophyll, the essential pigment for photosynthesis. This disruption leads to the rapid breakdown of chlorophyll, causing the weed to turn yellow and eventually die.

  • Inert: surfactant/ solvent 76% w/w

Direction For Use And Application

  • Apply as 160ml in 16 liters
  • Apply at the rate of 200 – 300L of water per hectare.
  • For aerial spraying, apply 50 liters of water per hectare.
  • Half fill the spray tank with water before adding the required amount of Paraquat
  • Then completely fill the tank to the required capacity.
  • Apply using a knapsack or boom sprayer

Precautions

  • Do not spray in windy conditions
  • Follow label instructions.
  • Use the required personal protective equipment specified on the product label.
  • Paraquat should be administered by professional applicators.
