Indications in Coccifor 100g

  • Prevention and treatment of infections caused by gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria e.g. Pullorum disease, Fowl Typhoid, Intestinal infections, Omphalitis etc.
  • Vitamin deficiency during and after stress.
  • For the prevention and treatment of enteritis in piglets.
  • Indicated for the prophylaxis and treatment of intestinal coccidiosis in rabbits.

Coccidiostats are animal-only antimicrobials that are not classified as veterinary medicinal products and their usage is not linked to reduction in antibiotics. They are mainly used to control coccidiosis, maintain intestinal integrity, alleviate pain and suffering, and help deliver good bird health and welfare. Sometimes, there is debate over what coccidiostats actually are: feed additives or antibiotics.

Coccidiosis is important from an economic point of view, where the birds are raised under intensive conditions. The severity of the disease that occurs depends both on the infecting species and the density of the parasite burden. As prevention is greater than treatment, proper control measures should be followed. Control measures include good husbandry, as a prime requirement and the use of anticoccidial drugs for both prophylaxis and treatment.
